A perfect day of fishing. Weather was about 70-75 degrees at the warmest with maximum water temperatures of 71.5. The wind blew some, the clouds cleared some and the conditions alternated all day, 12-6:15pm.
We caught and released 54 fish.
A highlight was when we almost had a triple on. In one small are of water, K. first connected with a fish which warranted "Grab the net". He boated a nice 2lb LMB. We all were saying
"You da man" as that was the largest fish of the day. A couple of minutes later, I said,
"Grab the net" and boated a super thick and super wide 13.5" LMB, maybe 3+ pounds. So I grabbed the big fish title. Before I had my fish unhooked, P. was saying "Grab the net" and I netted his biggest LMB of the day. That was fun.
Our friendly competition ended with K. boating 11 fish, mostly LMBs.
I boated only LMB for a total of 12.
P. boated 31 fish, maybe half were LMB and the remainder pumpkinseeds.
Crankbaits and top waters of all variety produced the largemouths and a wedding ring with worm brought some LMB and the sunfish.
