First time on Lake Washington and Lake Union in my portabote. Launched at the UW waterfront activity center. It was a little rainy at first, but the sun did make it out finally. Caught several small bass, one squaw fish, and almost boated a trout at the end. The final stretch of the adventure was back east through the Montlake cut, which was a challenge. Fighting current, wind, and wakes from bigger boats, all while hoping my battery would not die. It was a crawl, and got a bit swamped from a wake, but made it back. Was suprised during that crawl in the canal when I hooked a trout, I think, on a little chartruese roostertail I was draggin along. Got him to the boat, and lost him, but saw the telltale black and silver markings. Was a good first time on the big water.
