Headed out on the boat later than what we wanted to and started fishing about 10:00 or so down at Goose Island. My dad and I tried trolling crankbaits in two different areas around the island that have been consistent producers for us over the years and couldn't get a walleye. Caught a few smallmouth around there. After a hour and a half or two we tried heading up to the mouth of Crab Creek and tried trolling around that area and caught no walleye up there also while pulling worm harnesses. Ended up leaving around 3:00 to 3:30. Did see some guys fishing out in the 30 ft water in front of the mouth of Crab Creek area catching some bass consistently off the humps there.

JB, I have had good luck pulling cranks along the face of the damn in late summer, maybe try that too some time. Thanks for the report!

Do you pull them right along the dam in the 25-30 foot of water? or along the shallower area by the island?
