We got to Scooteney Reservoir and started fishing about 3:00 PM. It was really windy that day but we went out. Trying to keep the boat where we wanted to while trolling was a pain but we caught some fish. We fished up at the inlet of the Potholes Canal with a worm harness spinner and caught some nice perch up to 13". We caught some walleye also but nothing of size, just a bunch of 12-14" fish. Tried over by one of the bluffs for crappie before leaving and got a couple nibbles but couldn't get them hooked. Did talk to the old timers there at the camping area and the camp host and they told me about how great the perch fishing is there and I should go there when the lake is iced over for some ice fishing for perch.

Good report, I like that piece of water, and have done well on it over the years. When the wind blows just drift with it, your worm harness is a perfect drift offering for the walleye, save gas and frustration fighting the wind and just go with the flow.

Jball. The canal outlet at the southern end holds some dandy smallmouth from scootney. Motoring up in there can be treacherous but worth a shot this time of year because you tend to be out of the wind. Theres some nice bluegill and crappie on the down stream side of the outlet canal. Great report bro.. Jiggy

Jig, yeah we tried motoring down the southern end and was halfway in the canal then my dad was like screw this after that and motored back up because of the wind and it was already like 6:00. I did catch a small smallie in the canal though. BMGW we did the drift thing for awhile and we were in a rental anyways since our little boat has a leak in it right now that needs to be fixed. Gas doesn't need to be refilled so we used the larger motor instead of our trolling motor and used up as much gas as we could lol. How's the water in Leland doing? I need to get up there maybe this weekend or next weekend when I go home.
