After reading Dr.Bob's report i had to report on my favorite lake this side of the great divide.Me and my friend went to easton lake state park and stayed overnight to get a jump on some early fishing. What can i say fish finder found the fish in small schools on the bottom ,but we were unsuccessful in enticing them to bite .We left went to some other small lake .It was really dirty and everyone was using power bait on the bottom WE tried ol' trusty ,but no luck .So kind of frustrated with the trip my friend suggested what I had been thiking for the last 4 hours HEAD HOME,BUT GO BY OL TRUSTED FIRST. Got to langlois at about 4 P.M no luck for an hour to an hour and a half ,then bam to nice rainbows kind of tired and wanting just to relax we troll to the boat launch and the darn fish finder goes beserk around the fallen tree where everyone fishes from the bank and wham #3 ok rainbow .2 were hooked in the throat so we kept all 3 for a lovely dinner .The fish were all off the bottom from 2-5 feet ,or else suspended around 40-45 ft..We use dark green and black flies with a worm and troll 1/2 the speed of what forward 1 wil do.No matter what when i need to play a few fish i go there. And no i don't have a down rigger what i do have is about 3-4 medium sized split shots and enough patience to stay still until my tackle touches the bottom and then go at a snails pace .SLOW AND LOW IS THE KEY .Water surface temp was 62-64 on this glorious day .
