With only a couple weeks left of the fishing season for Downs...just wanted to let all the perch and crappie anglers know.....that we caught perch (8) biggest one, 12" and crappie (8) biggest one 13 1/2". Ron caught all the perch but one and Darla caught all the crappie but one. Ron used a spinner with a couple sinkers and Darla used a spinner with no extra weight. We trolled the middle of the lake for hours, not the normal way for us to catch perch and crappie, which is usually sit and drop to the bottom for perch. And crappie is caught casting. Anyway, we had so much fun we didn't know how long we were out on the water. Which was from 11am to 5pm. Weather was beautiful and warm. We drift trolled on Sunday afternoon and caught 7 perch and 1 crappie in the evening. The Bass are also very active, Ron caught 3 Monday morning and Darla caught 1, using spinner. All bass were in the slot.

We are hoping to get in more fishing in the next 2 weeks.

Wow, how are the pads at downs right now? You say the 3 bass were over 13 and under 18 or whatever the slot is, i just catch and release so not sure what it is. May i ask what you were using to catch the bass? Thanks and be safe out there.
