Hit up the chew at around 2pm, fished down by the railroad tracks in the back roads on north fort. Sat around mainly fishing for the perch with a worm and bobber. I wasn't having much luck as I was double and triple hooking the worm on the hook, so I decided to just hook the worm once and let the rest of it dangle on the hook...well that turned out to be a good thing! I hit a few perch around 6 to 7 inches and released them, then starting hitting the 1 to 2 pound largemouths. I got bored and decided to throw it right under the bridge and I saw my bobber just nosedive! I pulled back and didn't set the hook but my whole worm was gone...I looked to see what was grabbing onto it and it was this huge hawg..So I put on another canadian nightcrawler and just hooked him once and threw it back over in the same spot and he took maybe half the worm but my bobber was going down, then she decided to take another gulp getting the hook in it's mouth...I pulled back!!! This was one good fight!! I didn't think my 8 lb line was gonna hold and I thought my little perch hook was going to slide right out of it's mouth but it didn't and I landed it!!! I grabbed her up and put the stringer on her but didn't really have the intention on just taking 1 largemouth home, so I took a couple of pictures and released her...hopefully she's back next time when I get my boat and really start nailing the hawgs in this lake!!!
Ps: I've put in quite sometime on this lake, and I never thought I'd land the big one with a bobber, and worm on a perch hook!! Lots of fun though!!
