Got to Langlois about 6:30 AM Saturday, one other boat was on the lake which was still partly hidden in mist. Overcast wiht an intermittant slight drizzle. Had to navigate the sunken logs at the launch to get out. (keep left or far right). The two of us had it to ourselves, but I think the biggest trout was pulled out of the water by the resident Osprey.

I limited on beautiful fat 8-12" rainbows using a "Little Shaver" small red/siler spoon tipped with a worm. Most of my hits came when I had 100 feet of line out and was stopped trying to rig up a downrigger or tie up a new lure. The slow drift of the spoon apparently enticed the strikes. Never did use the down rigger, just trolled on the surface. A few fish were jumping and I tried csting flies to several rises, but no takes.

This is a beautiful lake, surrounded by forest. A 40 foot+ tree cracked and then fell into the water while we were trolling. That and the Osprey and the pretty fish made it a good day. Was off the lake by 9:00 AM.

PS: Watch for the Girl Scouts at the West end. Sometimes they swim across the lake. If you do hook one when trolling they put a good fight, but you have to throw them back.

Remember- only catch five trout when you're using bait released or not!
