Fished Panther Lake Saturday morning and had a little luck. No fish early, but finally a few small largemouth bass in the boat between 8:30 and 9AM. I searched all my usual spots, but not much action. Finally, a bit after nine, I got the bite I was looking for...at least 10 feet down along the side of a big log I hooked up with an 18 inch bucketmouth. A nice clean open water fight that included a huge (scared-he-might-get-off) jump near the end. That would have been a fun one to film - like I'll be doing soon with the hat cam I ordered. I fished an hour and a half more with no other bites...but that one hawg made all the effort worthwhile. Slow fishing and the water is getting cold...dang!

Nice report Hawgs on. I have to say you are very productive out there.

I've fished here since I was 12 years old, and was taught most of what I know about the this place from a family that used to live on the lake many years ago.....and most of those cherished spots still produce for me today. I now have some new friends on the lake that make it very accessible for me, so I fish Panther as often as possible (usually in thier boat!). This place has some real big bass if you get to know it. Maybe some day I'll catch one of those again. Thanks and take care.
