My wife had to work today so I loaded up my boat and the dog and we headed to Jameson Lake to fish it for the first time since moving to Waterville. I put in at the state launch at about noon which sucked because there’s no dock and I forgot my gun boots. Oh well, it won’t be the first time I fished with wet feet. Water temp was 58.3 degrees. Weather was low overcast with light sprinkles most of the afternoon. I headed to the rock wall and marked lots of fish holding close to the bottom. I caught and released probably 40 to 50 small 10” to 12” planter rainbows in the short three hours I was there using 1/16 oz jigs in several different colors; with black pulling the most hits. There were only five or six boats on the water but lots of shore anglers drowning worms and dunking power bait. I talked to several folks fishing from the shore and most were approaching full limits. I talked with a Cub Scout Den Mother and her six Cub Scouts and they were all within one or two fish of their limits using Power bait and egg marshmallow combinations. The kids appeared to be having a blast. Jameson is a very child friendly lake.
