10/25/2010 7:58:00 PMI have had days like that, I too have been thinking about ice fishing season. I plan to be in Spokane over the Christmas holiday and was thinking of checking out the other lakes like Medical for Crappie. What do you know about Medical and Clear Lake for Crappie and Perch??

BlueFox sells their Vibrix Spinners with a single hook in the package, you can remove the treble add on the single hook and then bend back the barb. Also you can purchase a pack of Gamakatsu hooks that have an open eye which makes it easy to install, then bend back the barb.

10/26/2010 7:59:00 PMBMGW - Hope there's ice when you're here in Spokane over Christmas. Medical and Clear Lake close Oct 31 - so no ice fishing. West Medical's been closed since Sept 30. If you're planning on ice fishing come Dec, lakes in Spokane are Silver (just down the road from Medical), Eloika and Newman. Hog Canyon Lake and Fourth of July Lake are close by west on I-90 and offer trout fishing as does Sprague Lake. Last winter I fished Silver exclusively for perch; You can backtrack and see some of my posts for winter perching there. I might try Sprague this year for trout, although I hear the trout out of there taste muddy.
