I headed out to Kitsap Lake today for some fishing with the boys. Since I just moved here from Japan I don't have a boat yet. I decided to fish from the public fishing dock on the south end of the lake. I fished from 1430-1600. I tried lures, bottomfishing with berkley trout nuggets, wax worms under slip float, even the old trust night crawlers and didn't even get a bite. I think there was to much vegetation in the water. I couldn't use a deep diver or a surface lure without getting tangled up in the weeds. I was hoping to get a couple cutts for dinner but had to settle for Dominos Pizza instead. Anyone know if the public docks are a productive fishing spot? Any and all suggestions of different areas or baits to try are greatly appreciated.

Paul

Kitsap is usually a bust, good bass lake though. Try island lake in Silverdale, it has a nice public dock and several bank spots

ohioman76 try minter creek if you just want to catch some of those chum salmon heading to the hatchery. fish it when the tide is low would be the best, get your self some small corky colors don't matter and a size one hook set your leader to three feet from the swivel with a16th oz , cut pencil lead about 1,1/2 depending on which hole your fishing at. good luck and have fun its easy fishing and don't forget your salmon punch card the game warden are out there i know two of them out of four that i talk to.
