Ran up to the north end of the lake with Slimy Slab, passing up many jumping fish in the process, and started trolling outside of Juanita Bay around 8:30am. The wind was calm, temps were hovering right at 40 degrees and the water temp was at 49 degrees, it looked to have the makings of a successful outing. However promising it looked all we could muster in the area was one 12" koke on a mini cut plug, go figure. With no bait found in the vicinity, we picked up the gear and ran to Arrowhead Point to set up shop. Trolled along St. Edwards Park, across to the west shore and then north till we hit water less than 20 feet deep. Didn't see anything on the sounder that encouraged us to stick around so we picked up the gear once again and headed down south to try the east channel. Picked up 2 smaller cutts, both on mini cutplugs, right off the bottom in 50' of water, one of which drew the attention of 2 bald eagles. My partner had the camera at the ready to capture what we were hoping would be a Kodak moment, however the fish didn't stay on the surface all that long and the eagles took off as it neared the boat. It had started to rain fairly hard and we were out of propane for the heater so we called it a day shortly thereafter.

glad to hear you gave the N. end some attention. sorry it wasn't more productive, it's hard to give up tried and true places.

Thanks for the report. Sounds like the south end is the deal.

Right now the middle of the lake is where you are going to want to be fishing. With all the rain we have had, the north and south ends will be murky and full of salad, which makes for frustrating fishing conditions. Also, in hindsight, we should have ran over to Thorton Creek or Hunt's Point and worked the bottom in 35' to 60' of water.

Glad to hear you had some luck out there. What size are those mini cut plugs and do you use any sent or bait on them? Thanks for the report. Ive looked at the stores around everett area and only found the big 4 inch ones. Looks like I need to hit sportco in seattle.

They are about 3" long, what I'd call Red Label size. I've been loading them up with Anchovy, Herring or Anise Krill scents and they all seem to work fine. Outdoor Emporium in Seattle and Sportco in Fife have them in stock and until the 15th of January you can get them at a 20% discount if you use the cupon found in their flyer (available in store).
