I went out Again today before the snow forced me to turn around. After the last few days of cleaning fish, I decided to target bass and do some CNR. I used a silver Northland forage minnow in the spoon version, size #8. I would tip it with either a big waxie from the box, or a Nuggie in pink, white, or chartreuse. White seemed to preoduce the most fish though today. I fished another point in about 13 feet of water. I managed 23 bass today. All were standard Eloika size, 10-14 inches, but they sure are fun on a 24in UL rod with light line. I did lose a few jigs to much larger fish today. I had one that looked in the 5lb class up to the hole, but I couldn't get his head up and he broke me off.
Lots of movement was the key. I set my rod down to have a bite to eat, nothing... bumped it a bit, and wham. Very active for this time of year.
