well today was a good day for my son and I to spend time together. Bad for fishing Not one fish I seen pulled from the lake.... Wait I take that back I seen a couple fish taken but that was by an eagle. he was hanging out eating his catch like he was having a picnic on the grass...

We try different methods, depths, weight and distance. power bait alot different of colors, real worms, fake worms, bobber method, spoons, spinners, jigs, salmon eggs. I did find I was good at cathing other lost gear in the lake, so I added a bunch of weights to my collection. tossed the hooks and line and spare branches in the trash. water was way up from the last time I was out there. We tried two different areas, one I caught alot of perch from before, no luck this time. and the other I watched alot of folks pull trout from last time I was at this lake. 6 hours not a bit or a hint of a bite. but all in all great day to relax and now my son realizes why I love to fish so much.

Wow! You're son was able to do 6 hours. I say hats off to him. My kid has about 2 hours if the fish aren't biting before he gets antsy.

yeah he got like that @ the 5 and a half hour mark lol and I think that was the hunger setting in. I didn't realize he didn't have breakfast this morning. I wanted to stay and see if any bites were going to come later in the evening as waiting for him this morning we got there a little late. left @ 8 am and poles in the water @ 9 am. I wanted to have poles in @ 730am.

It's funny how kids work when they catch something you can't get them off the water when they don't can't keep them on the water. I think him realizing that I gave up trying to catch a fish long ago and to sit and talk with him he realized why I love fishing. He told me dad we didn't catch anything but I had fun talking to you about everything, thats what made my day a 5 star rating!

Nice job Dad! I have many great memories of fishing with my Dad. We didn't always catch something, but it was always a great time and never wasted!....and it's not the fish we caught that I remember, it was time time spent with my father. Of course, catching fish is nice too, so better luck next time.

I am in the same boat the only thing I ever remember catching out of all the fish was a shark deep sea fishing in CA and a duck off a minnow we all swore I had a huge cat or striped bass on the line until we saw the lin go from the water to the air at lake mead in las vegas, other than that they were just fish yeah it was fun but I got to spend time with my best buddy my pops. And thats what counted to me! now living here I can get him away from the video games and good thing he could careless about the rain he will fish with me in the rain but the cold is a different store he can't bare that for too long.

oh the shark was released back in the water somewhat safely I didn't touch it as I almost got bit trying to get my hook back lol
