All I have to say is Wow...Lake Chelan is On Fire for Laketrout Fishing!!!!!
Today I started in the Lower Basin again Down lake from Rocky Point in Depths of 145 and slowly trolled into my Honey hole to catch 8 Laketrout in the first hour..Fast and furious action!!!!!Bait of Choice today was the Ace Hi-Fly trolled at 1.3 to 1.5 mph kee...ping the baits 1 to 3 ft. off the bottom..Then we had a Wind change and it was like a light switch. The bite slowed and then another Wind Change and the Bite was back on..It is so amazing to me that the Barometric Pressure affects the Laketrout when they are over 200 ft deep like it does..
Ended the day today with 20 Laketrout, 40 lbs. of Fillets and new friends from Seattle area..Thanks so much Greg Lee and Al Charlson for fishing with me today.

Some nice fish there Joe, That looks like a heavier stringer (or pole) of fish than the usual from that area. You are making some awesome memories for your clients, Keep up the great work

You are spot on Loui..These were definitely bigger than the average for Trench Fish..There is more of the Bigger fish starting to show in the Trench because of the Schools of Koks that are showing in the Lower Basin..I am not sure that this is a good sign or a bad sign..What I have seen in the past when there were numbers of Koks showing this early in the year in the lower Lake, proved to be a good up coming spring time Kokanee Fishery but what has me worried is the size of the koks that I am seeing..They are really Small!!! In the past when the Koks showed in the lower lake this early, they were really nice Koks 10 to 12 inch average..This year they are not even close to that..There is a lot of Koks in the Lower Basin...More than I have ever seen this early in the year..Keeping my fingers crossed that I am wrong but I have my reserves..
