George Selvy of Lynnwood and fishing partner Don McAfee were nice enough to let their buddy Jeff Witkowski and our guide Andy Byrd take them out for a morning fishing on Lake Chelan. They ran up above the Yacht Club and fished for 2.5 hours! They got a 12# fish for me to exhibit at the Western Washington Sportsman's Show in Puyallup. They caught 10 other fish including a 10.8 pounder. Kingfisher Lite spoons in Chartreuse Splatterback by Silver Horde worked great at 1.5mph with 5 feet of the bottom in 200 to 350 feet of water. You can feel the kokanee in their stomachs. This is foreshadowing a great kokanee season here. A lot of the kokanee in the laker bellies are 11 to 13 inches and already chunky. This is a great time to fish Chelan for big fish and great numbers.
