2/21/2011 6:50:00 PMMy new XRodz is an eight footer, with 90% high modular fiberglass and 10% graphite composite materials.
This was its first day on the water since ordering it from Jim Mercier of XRodz at the Sportsman Show.
As you can see it loaded up nicely.
My fishing partners fly weight rods (smaller diameter blanks) are bent over and loaded up even more drastically than mine, but still perform exceptionally.
There are many different material types of downrigging application rods out on the market now.
Some are fiberglass, some graphite and some are combinations of both.
These are specifically designed downrigger rods for loading up, to perform like a giant snubber for playing and landing the Cutthroats, Kokanee and Trout.
With sharp sticky hooks on your lures and loading these new designed material rods in your downrigger, l also believe it will increase your hookset percentages.
It has for us.
Thanks guys for your responses.
