Spent most of the afternoon on the banks. The wind was cold and although I tried to find cover from it, it was unevitable that I was going to be in it. I fished a few different places along the banks of the lake, with a couple of different rigs. I tried drifting crappie jigs on a bobber as well as a drop rig with a nightcrawler. Even made 30-40 casts with a 3/8 oz. jig w/ a chart. grub, tried tipping it with a nightcrawler too. No luck anywhere that I tried. I guess the fact that noone else was out there for the afternoon should have indicated to me that I should go elsewhere. It will get better soon.

Did you try fishing along the cliff and bluff area? or Just by the canal area that connects the lake? Seems like that cliff/little bay area you can walk to should be able to hold some fish at this time of the year with it being about 30 feet deep and all. I might go there or head up to Moses Lake this weekend for some perch/crappie fishing.

Hey Jbball50,

You're right about heading to Moses Lake. Traditionally the perch spawn the first week of March and one hotspot is just north of the I-90 bridge. Sometimes it's best just northwest of the bridge, sometimes just northeast. There will be lots of boats out fishing for them so just follow along. I use an Acme Fiord jig tipped with worm jigged off the bottom. When you catch a dink, switch to perch meat or eyes.

Good luck!!!!!

Yes, I fished many different areas on the lake, actually 2 different days also. I walked in on the point north of the park facing the boat launch and the bays to the south, as well as a few others. I didnt have as much as a hit. I know all about the potholes and moses for perch. I am from Soap Lake and have fished all my life. I have some great holes for most species around eastern WA. I fish for small stuff like perch and pikeminnow up to bigger fish like steelhead and sturgeon. I do pretty well when the weather cooperates. When the barometer turns off the fish I have less luck. Good luck on Moses!!

Yeah I got lazy today and didn't wake up until 11, probably going to try Moses tomorrow, hopefully the dang bridge isn't full of people when I get there.
