Took a good friend to Eloika today in the wind and snow. We fished a few places with no fish marked on the Vexilar, so we walked to our "spot" about 3/4 of a mile north of Jerry's Landing. We set up the shelter after I caught a keeper perch. Black #10 jig and a white Nuggie was the key yet again. We originally went with the midset of catching some big perch with the weather change, but we were happy to catch many crappie instead. Fish were caught in 15 feet of water right above the weeds at 5-7 feet. We did not catch many fish today, but all fish that we did land were quality. One of the crappie we kept went 11" acording to the scoop'o'meter. We landed one nice bass too, which was an added bonus. All in all it was a great day and we had a really good time.

Nice going. Haven't been out to brave the lakes in this wind and snow myself. Maybe I should get out while the gettin's good.
