These warmer days were driving me nuts, so I decided to test out my newly built wheeled cart for my flat bottom Jon boat. I also took my chocolate Lab "Doc" along for his very first boat ride. After arriving at I 82 pond # 1 parking lot, I strapped my boat down and headed thru the tunnel. (My hand built bot cart worked like a charm!) I was soon trolling pond #1 for rainbows with a wedding ring and crawler. It didn't take long to pop my first fish, a skinny 12" bow. The bite quickly tapered off and I changed spinner colors several times. I also caught three smallish yellow perch on a spinner and jig combo. After a while, Pond # 2 beconded me to troll it for its bigger trout. Then I realized that I had an undercharged battery for my minkota, so I had to cut the pond # 2 foray short. I ended up tagging a nice bluegill by the pond 1 beaver hut, but with little reserve juice in my battery, it was a long, slow ride back to the launch. "Doc" took it all in stride and as always, he wanted to help me land every fish. Met a cool guy named Dave and exchanged phone #'s for future fishing too. The Barometric pressure was less than ideal today. The bite was a tad hard to come by, but ANY time on the water beats veggin' at home on the couch. Tight lines to ya' all, Jiggy
