Since we spent the night before at our friends' cabin on Fish Lake, getting to the lake was easy today! After breakfast, and a good bit of bundling up for the driving snow and rain, we headed out. All the kids came along, and the 4 with me each caught 3 of their own perch. My daughter even jigged up and hooked her own, which is saying quite a bit because the perch these days are merely kissing the bait, not biting per se. The heavy rain and snow drove the kids off the lake early, to the warmth of the fireplace. Three of us continued to fish till about 2 or so, catching enough for a couple more fish fry's and really enjoying the late winter storm. It wasn't cold, just wet. We were the ONLY people on the lake today. We were shocked to see this......not sure what is keeping folks away, but it was probably the poor weather forecast. We caught enough perch for us, still using standard perch gear. We didn't have to explore very far. The surface is getting pretty messy with all the snow and rain.
