I got off work early and decided to drive out to Burke Lake. As I turned onto White Trail road I noticed that the wind was blowing pretty good, but by the time I reached the lake the wind was fairly calm and was replaced by a rain shower. I walked around the south shore to a pretty good looking spot and proceeded to catch my limit within about 2 1/2 hours. I used a sliding sinker rig with a single #14 egg hook on about 18-20 inches of 4# leader and baited the hook with multi-colored sparkly power bait. I did not need to cast out very far and most of my bites occurred in the same general spot and about 25 feet from shore. The trout were in great shape and measured from 10-13 inches, not bad for stockers. The intermittent rain showers made for some slippery and sticky mud conditions, but I stayed fairly dry and had a good time.
