Well-
The much anticipated Liberty trip is in the books. My two brother's and I went out on one brothers boat. We arrived at the launch at 6:45 and we're surprised to see three bank fishermen already set up.
When we arrived, conditions were windy (10-15mph gusts) and overcast. perfect we thought. Anticipation was high to catch many of the brood stock in the lake. We started casting towards shore with rapalas, but soon realized it was a little windy for comfort, so we got out of the wind towards the county park on the other end of the lake.
Brother picked up a nice 2-3 lb brood stock bow in the bay outside the backside of what looks to be Liberty lake lodge. we moved over to the weed beds on other side of county park, expecting action, but the bight was slow all day. We continued around, working the rocks, and other brother caught a nice 3-4lb. brown. very healthy. He was throwing a 3" minnow on a lead head. we worked our way all the way to the next rock cove, (across from public launch, and decided to go back around and start trolling the other way.
brother picked up a hold over bow on a jointed white bellied perch rapala. beautiful color 15" fish. we trolled back to the weed beds and continued to throw plasticts towards the weeds, and work back around towards original whole. 2 more trout boated. total of 5 fish between three fisherman. 4 for 1 brother, 1 for other brother and 0 for me. overall the anticipation far outweiged the fishing, but you couldn't replace the time spent with brothers in a boat cracking wise ass coments all day. priceless.
