I have fished mattoon for the past three days and have yet to be dissapointed! I decided one day to finally catch a fish on a Kastmaster, as I have heard great things about them, but had yet to have any luck. Headed down to the opposite side of the lake and wow! The first day I got my limit in just under an hour with all fish being just around 14/16in. The next two days, the fish were about the same with the exception of 3 brood stock with the smallest at 4.5lbs and the largest just over 7.5lbs. What fun! The smaller fish are hitting far out and a quick retrieve ontop gets them to strike, while the booders are hitting a sporatic retrieve in shallow water. Fish will be smoked, cant wait!
