The weather warmed up on Thursday afternoon, so about 3:00, the wife and I went to Scriber Lake. The lake was high, shoreline vegetation partially submerged. Water temperature unknown. The "dock", actually a floating trail, makes a pretty good fishing platform.
My wife fished with a worm on size 4 gang hooks about 5 feet under a bobber. I also used a worm on gang hooks, but fished the bottom. No action at all.
We were only there about an hour when it began to rain, so, around 4:00, we packed it in and returned home.
Last fall I bought a 10' Porta-Bote, and haven't had it in the water yet. We've been practicing assembling it in the seclusion of our back yard, so as not to make complete fools of ourselves when we bring it to the water's edge in full view of the fishing community.
When the weather and the water temperature have warmed, we'll make our Porta-Bote debut!
In the meantime, we've been scouting out some of the likely small lakes in King and Snohomish Counties. We live Near Northgate Mall in North Seattle, so they are the closest.
I came across WashingLakes.com when I was looking for local fishing info. It's a great site, so I joined and this is my first report.
I hope to make many more, hopefully with better results, in the 2011 fishing season!
