My buddy was on a furlough today so we decided to try out my new (to me) boat. We were on the lake by 9 am and tried trolling a variety of blades, wedding rings, white shoe peg corn, maggots, and power bait and then switched to pop gear with most of the above combinations. We trolled with the wind, against the wind and tried a variety of places (mostly east side and north side of lake. Nothing. It was nice to be fishing and nice each time the sun came out for a few minutes, but no fish.

I suggested trying the far southeast section, as it is shallower and maybe the water was a little warmer. On a whim I put on a super duper and as we went from 8 feet to 24 feet, headed north I caught two on two passes, both times moving a little faster than the wind would have moved us. The first was 12 inch rainbow and the second was 11 inches.
