Get you get a water temp and how clear was the water? Also, how is the water level compared to the high water level on the rocks?

3/30/2011 8:39:00 PMChartrues is the wrong color this time of the year in my experience. The water is fairly clear for this lake right now. Think more natural colors. Black, brown, dark green and you should nail them.

3/30/2011 8:49:00 PMKeep it shallow, too. In my experience, trout will occupy the warmest water, ie the shallows. That's where most food will be found early season. I used to slap em silly out there early, in 6-10' of water, within 100-200 yards of the launch. Snow cone chironomid patterns and blood worms under an indicator. As the water warmed, hatches would begin to materialize out deep, and that's where I would get them.
