Today the weather was strange, sunny sometimes, cloudy sometimes and rainy off and on. Thought that I might be able to reel in some of the recent stockers they put in at twin lakes park, in the grownup section, mind you.
I tried everything, trolling wedding rings, flatfish, kastmasters, bobber and worms, power bait on the bottom, casting spinners and spoons, everything besides fly fishing, on account of my brother has my rod in his car in Oregon.
Not one bite. But with my polarized glasses I was able to see the dumb fish schooling right under my raft. Like ten at a time. Stupid fish would tease me, swirl at the top, swim round me in circles, but wouldn't take anything. A guy on the bank caught two of them with a fifty fifty spoon, but he'd been there all day.
The water temp wass hovering between 50 and 49 degrees. Fish everywhere on my fish finder, and the lake has a very flat bottom at about fifteen feet fifteen feet out. Looks like it'll lose some water and gain some plants when it warms up. If we can get some nice weather for a couple days in a row we'll see the trout bite pick up, because they're on the cusp.
Saw some big ones teasing me, cruising right under the boat.
