WOW What a day on the water. After seeing my Kokes from the Thursday trip to Palmer Lake in Okanogan county With Joe from Lake Chelan Adventures, Cindy was ready to tackle a road trip to get in on the action. Cindy came off five 10 hour work days and had today off before going back to the job on Sunday. She said she could rest on the trip there and back, and I just couldn't pass on a deal like that. We made an early Saturday morning start for the drive North, and were on the water around 0800ish. After watching Joe pull in some great Kokes on Thursday, I was thinking I could put a few in the boat. So we fought the wind, with some screaming gusts most of the day, and after about 8 hours on the water, we both had a limit of 17-18" Kokanee. Our Biggest Kokanee ever!! We trolled with a variety of set ups and colors, but was not able to establish a pattern, so it was try everything and catch the gullible ones. After the limit on Kokes, we tried to perch fish but the anchor wouldn't hols in the wind. Using the electric, we were able to slow drift with the wind, and picked up a dozen or so perch for a mess. They were running 8-10 inches for us today. A Big thanks to Joe for all the tips and advice that made this extrodinary adventure a success for us.
