Walked to Green Lake again for a little exercise and fishin. Started about 07:45, ending about 11:00. Started at the paddle boat dock and worked around clockwise. Visited several other anglers, who reported not many fish caught, for the 12,000 fish that were planted there in March. And I was catching not even a nibble. So, since I didn't start out with any breakfast or coffee, I decided to take a pit stop at Beth's Cafe for breakfast, a little after 09:00. Refueled, I headed back to the lake and kept working clockwise. Finally, at about 10:20, my Kasmaster enticed a quite feisty 7 inch rainbow trout to bite. I was a little surprised, but brought him to shore. Took a couple of photos, and back to the lake he went, swimming away quickly. I made it all the way around the lake, and decided to head home, this time hopping on the #48 city bus to get me most of the way there. It was a bit cold and breezy, but I saw a couple of hearty pontoon boaters out rowing in the wind and dodging the shell rowers. Hope they were not on the lake for more than the 2 hour limit! What a crazy rule that is, along with the no motors restriction.

What...? 2 hour limit! Is this something new? You have to send me a text. ( I don't have my phone on me)

Well, I was looking at the signs yesterday. They said hand launch, non-motorized, 2 hour limit. I will take a picture next time. My memory fades sometimes :)

Nice catch UrbanAngler. Ever since March 7 I haven't been able to get anything out of Green. Any idea why some fish appear to have scales becoming discolored? I've caught some rainbows that had seemingly perfect skin in Green Lake, but some others, like the one in the pic above, seem to be losing scales. Might be an indication of overall water quality or fish health? Maybe that's part of the normal life cycle.

I think your talking about the hand launch/unlaunching parking space can't be parked there for over 2 hours, I think there is one on lake washington in the hand launch area by seward park too.

I'll be out there on my pontoon once they plant the triploids, or maybe bring some corn and corn mealed dough balls and hook some carp and let them tow me around. :)

Urban, oh yes, I do now recall those signs in the "Hand launch" area which just South of the baseball field on the East side. Those signs have been there for ever, and do not seem to hold much water. I thought for a moment that the city had placed some "New" rules into effect. I was about to go bonkers. I just like that place so much. The over run use of crew/rowing all ready ticks me off.... don't get me started.

1) Fish from boat for 1 hour 59 minutes
2) Take boat out of water
3) Return boat to water
4) Repeat steps 1-3.

Ahh Beths - In my youth I ended many all nighters in that place. Did you have the 12 egg omelet?

I did not have the 12 egg omlet this time. 2 eggs over easy, 2 pancakes, bacon, and several re-fills of Cafe Vita drip coffee. My new green lake fishing breakfast stop! Bye bye Starbucks.
