The weather looked tolerable today, although the pressure was dropping, the skies were clearing, and the winds were swinging 90 degrees. Fishable, but not conducive to a bite, since all indications were for the passage of a front. After yesterday's scouting, we had a plan, and it was mainly to hit spots we didn't get to yesterday and hope for some bites. We had to fight the wind initially, so we stayed along the west side, finding some new drop-offs, points, and shoals/reefs. We had some bites in 82 feet of water, but no where else, from 20 feet to 85 feet. We covered lots of area. In the late afternoon, I finally hooked a nice fish. Turned out to be a burbot. We went back to the spot we had the bites in 82 feet, thinking they were perch, and tried perch gear. Couldn't get a bite, and that turned out to be all we touched all day. Surface temp is 37 to 38. Temps at 45 feet were 40 to 41. It was a great day to be out, given the previous days. We saw an owl, up close and almost personal, saw some mule deer, and watched a coyote under the cliffs along the lake. Hopefully the bite will improve in the next couple weeks.

Tough conditions. When it's like that I try to drop down into a tight canyon, like below the dam. Even a full blow in one direction is easier. The bite should improve, but with warmer weather. Time alone really doesn't seem to make much difference, especially on Banks. Sounds like hunting would have been more productive, if it was open. Good luck!

Lunde. I admire your detailed report and persistance. Finding those new shoals and dropoffs should pay off for you on future trips. Jiggy
