Fished the potholes from march 25th to the 30th up in the lind coulee area. From the lind coulee boat launch we went right with the boat for about 5 mins and fished off the first sandy bluff on the right for the first 2 days and the first two days were ok, caught a burbot and a walleye after 8 hours on the first day and the second day caught 2 walleye after 8 hours but on the third day is when we went to the left side to shelter us from the wind and marked more fish, caught 6 that day, 9 the next day and 7 our last day. We fished the walleye with bottom bouncers and spoon setups with a whole nightcrawler. We found that a polished copper spoon worked really well, better than the other colors we used. Try to use the spoon setups that can change spoons on the fly, much more convienent. Just joined the site and this is my first post so I hoped you enjoyed it.

Just checked out your video. Looks like fun. How deep were you fishing? The lures in the video are spinners with worm harnesses, not spoons. At least that's how I referr to them. Happy fishing.

Thank you for the correction AJ's Dad. We caught them from 30 to 50 feet. Also I forgot to mention we would speed up for a second or two then back to normal, that seems to help making them bite if they are following it.

Nice pre-spawn eaters! Yep, bottom bouncers with worm harness take more walleye than any other riggins. Great to see a video guys, welcome to the site! Just a note: When your fishing the depth you were, make a good hook set and SLOWLY bring them in, there not going to get away, but I noticed you had 3 dead fish in the live well and you could see the air bladder in the mouths of one of the fish in the net, thats because your bringing them in to fast... Now if you end up getting a real nice one that has to go back, if you bring it in as fast as you were, it will die! Once the air bladder gets past the gullet, their a goner. Not trying to be critical, just want to pass on years of experience and help to save some of the trophy fish you will undoubtedly encounter in the future. 20' or less depths and this is not an issue. Good eatin!

Thank you for the advice BMGW. We are used to catching them in shallower water later in the year so that's why we brought them up so fast that day. The next few days we did bring them up slower and on the day of the video the livewell was having trouble but the next few days it was working. This was our second time going after walleye so early but we will we back later fishing banks lake and driving down a day to lind coulee.
