I Got out to lake Washington in the sunshine. First cast, 3 seconds later, BAM!!! she fought like a beast for over a minute. Her head was huge and she had a big ol' belly. When I went to lip her, she got off the hook as I reached for her. I was super pissed. the smallie was easily over 4ibs. So I caught my breathe and continued. 20 casts or so later, I had another smash on my line. I didn't play with the fish time! She tried to jump and I horsed her in. Finally my first fish of the year! She gave me a good fight but not like the first fish and she was much skinnier. A gentelmen in a canoe took the picture for me. I rented a canoe shortly after and went everywhere I could in the arboretum. The wind picked up as the cloud cover set it and the bite was off like that. I was fishing with a bluegill rapala that they don't make anymore that I f#@$ng lost in some cover. Both fish were caught suprisinly in about 10' of water. I didn't have my scale on me but I think the smallie I landed was close to 3lbs??? It's been a while since I held a fish. Good day. Time to begin my bachlor party.
