Went to blackmans on this gorgeous april day and had zero luck. Tried casting a J5 jointed rapala, a needlefish, and tried bottom fishing with worms. Saw a couple caught on flies. Seems like thats all they wanted? any help?

change presentation often, if nothing works after throwing the tackle box at em, fish a shallower depth, most of the time i catch fish between 2-5ft deep water and very close to shore, sometimes sticking to structure like a bass would.....especially the fattys. ive caught fish all over the lake, but over the last 100 or so times ive fished here i find the highest concentrations to be in 2-5ft deep water...ive caught my biggest fish with perch colored rapalas, but most lures/bait work pretty well there. also its been fished pretty heavy by people and cormorants, one day i went down there and saw (roughly)80 cormorants and 30 people at hill park all fishing, thats not including boaters, or people at the boat launch or the eagles/ospreys that live there...so needless to say its been fished pretty heavily.

If you are fishing from a boat, try slow trolling a wedding ring near the surface (no extra weight). If that doesn't work, try drifting with a black wooley bugger tipped with a maggot.

I fished Blackman's yesterday from 7:30 - Noon. We trolled standard, can't miss, lake flies with elec. motor. There were several boats on the water and a dozen folks fishing from the docks. In that time, there was nary a fish caught by anyone, nor hardly a bump at any lure. I have never seen Blackman's so dead as that. Even in winter, folks were catching a few fish in an afternoon. Water temp yesterday was 55-58. Wind was NE at about 10knots. Day pleasant overcast and comfortably warm at about 65. Could not figure out why so dead. One guy thought that weather has been changing a lot in last week and fish were down on account of that. Maybe they need a few days of stable, warm weather.
