First try at Swofford trying to take advantage of the first sunny day off I have had in months.
Only 2 other boats (1 a kayak) on the water when I launched my cartopper, and wouldn't you know it...thats when the wind started blowing like crazy. Talked with the kayak fisher as I was unloading and he gave me the skinny....the lake is chock full of weeds, and big fish.
Floor to ceiling weeds and a strong wind made for really tough fishing. Every time I would spot some cover I wanted to try the wind and my trolling motor would enter an epic battle of wills.
Was able to get a couple of boils throwing weighted plastics to holes in the weed matting, but no hook ups. Would have killed for a little less wind and a fish finder.

None of the powerbaiters fishing from shore seemed to be getting any action for trout. Don't know if they have fed the bass yet at swofford...no surface action from trout at all even though there was a big bwo hatch going on.
