As most of you know, last Saturday was probably the nicest day we've had in about two months. So myself and two clients headed out about 8 AM for some Cutthroat fishing. I began, (like I always do) right out from Gene Coulon Park trolling from the East to West and towards the Southeast point of Mercer Island. Our first fish came just in front of the Cedar River in about 38 feet of water. The second fish, a wopping 5.5 lb, 23 inch fish came in front of the Swim Center on Mercer Island. That was a nice fish! 91 year old Matt Jones was quite proud of that fish. We continued to fish the rest of the day and ended up with 5 fish to the boat and 9 fish hooked. We had many small fish that day, a bit unusual for this time year. Most of the fish came on Herring, the big fish came on a tear drop UV flasher and 2 inch UV hootchie on a 14 inch leader. The day got pretty slow as more and more powerboats hit the water.
