4/29/2011 9:31:00 AMOh, carp fly: Yellow, or worm-like, small, and add a sweet scent like corn or anise. Not strictly purist, but I've had some success with it. Good fishing.

4/30/2011 12:41:00 AMAt green lake, I've managed to hook a few carp on a fly that I made up out of a tuft of white stuff with a brown dot that I made to imitate the falling cotton that they were eating around my boat. Also, a cigarette butt works well. For serious. Until they bust your fly rod :(

5/2/2011 4:01:00 PMOh and it turns out that white/peach carp we've been talking about is probably someone's Koi fish. I got it to follow my fly a couple of days agao, it came within 5 feet and wasn't spooked at all even when casting right on top of it. You can spot it some days at the south end of the lake if you have a dark background behind it and watch for a white sillouette on the water.
