I went to Lake Roesiger with my friend natenez. We got there about 9:45 AM. The forecast was for clearing weather and 20% chance of rain. It rained off and on (sometimes hard) until we got ready to leave around 2:30 PM. We put in at the WDFW launch (pretty small, only about 4 or 5 parking spots). We trolled at a medium speed doing a loop from the south end of the lake to about half-way to the county park.
The action was nearly constant, with breaks when almost nothing was happening. The best action was with a red triple teaser with a 3 foot leader, swivel and a small split shot about 50-75 behind the boat. We also had some luck with a green wedding ring, a red wedding ring, and a spinning fly. Since the fish were near the surface we used no split shot (when it was raining), 1 split shot when it was not raining, a 2 split shot when it was sunny and that seemed to do the trick. Between the two of us we brought 30 fish to the boat. Most of the fish where 8" recent plants, but 6 of them were triploids. We released all except for 3 of the triploids.
The smaller fish were nearest the boat launch and the bigger fish were farther north. This was one of my best days ever trout fishing, and as always, a pleasure to be fishing with natenez.
