I was excited to get out on the lake today, I had been looking forward to it for 2 weeks. We got to the lake around 2:30, and we were able to bring our 10 ft. aluminum boat out after buying a new trolling motor on saturday. We started off with pop gear with a red wedding ring behind it with a half nightcrawler. We trolled down to the other side of the lake, and decided to bobber fish with worms. My step-dad decided to take a nap while I was strugglind with the trolling motor. I was paying more attention to that than the bobber. The first cast I got a soft hit, and half of the worm was gone. Threw it out to the same spot with another bite and it took my worm again! After that I cated around that dock around 15 times with no luck. It was around 12 ft of water and I have caughten perch and an ocasional small bass at the same dock. My mom got to the park after she got out of work and I trolled down the lake to pick her up, zig zagging across the lake. People looked at me really funny, I can't blame em. It looked like i was drunk as a skunk the way I was going. Anyway, I picked her up and we tried around the park and the boat launch where the stockers had been releasesd. We were seeing people catch them on shore, but we had yet to get a bite. We tried that for around 30 minutes and my step-dad and my mom wanted to call it a day. When we got back to the boat launch there were a few people fishing there and asked if we had caught anything when we arrived. We said not a bite and they were very suprised. They sais the last boat that came in had three people limit out, which was not a pleasant thing to here. This older guy said the reason was we wereusing pop gear and on a hot day like this they are on the bottom. I didn't argue with him, but when we were out there we must have seen at leat ten fish jump completely out of the water. Although I was very dissapointed it was a beautiful day out and it was nice to tke the boat out. Next time We go we have decided to go to pine, this guy at the launch was saying the were biting like crazy with every method. It also wont be so affected by the weather because it is deeper. I would have posted pictures but there werent any fish to take pictures of. For now though, keep those stringers full! :-)

Sorry you didn't have better luck. Think the weather did have something to do with it . Fishing wasn't hot for us on Sunday either. I think Pine may be hot because the fish haven't been targeted yet as it just opened Saturday. Beaver lake is actually deeper than Pine, but it's got more variable topography. Better luck next time. It will get better!
