Today was my first time out this year with the boat. Was nervous if it would start or not....

Great news, it started up. Took 2 tries though to get the fuel through the lines though. But after that, it was smooth as butter.

Go onto the water at 11AM today. Beautiful day. Did a quick lap around to make sure the motor ran perfectly, which it did.

Got down to business and had on a jerk bait. Was in ~10' of water tossing it around the docks. Alternating and throwing a wacky-rig worm. Was quite windy so I put on a jighead and used that for wacky rigging.

Was working the jerk bait between 2 docks when all of a sudden, got a solid whack! Hook it and I see a big silver flash. Must be one of those triploids.... DOH! there it goes. Quickly grabbed my trout rod and threw my new favorite spinner, but that trout is now long gone.

Kept working down the docks and was getting almost to the opposite corner of the lake. I kept seeing and hearing all these fish jumping around me. But they are little ones. I keep trying with my jerkbaits and lipless cranks, but nothing is showing up on those. No bites or follows.
Didn't see a single bass of any kind.

So I gave up on that rod and decided to switch to trout. Had a nice big trout follow my spinner. Kept tossing it around that area, but the trout was not interested. Just for giggles, i threw the 5" wacky-rig next to a floating platform and whack! It's a big one! But a big trout, LOL. It was jumping and swimming. The most acrobatic trout I've ever caught from Lake Meridian. I had it to the boat side and it jumped another 3' and there goes the fish. :(

It wasnt very long, but it was fat. Guessing 15" fat football shaped. Very strong and active.

Switched back to the spinner. Landed a few small planters. 10"

By now, it's about 2PM and I was ready to call it a day. Headed towards the dock and I notice 3 boats either loading or unloading. I decided to try the spot where I missed the first big trout. Working my way there, got 2 more trips that spit the hook at boat side. They were schooling together. Also landed a 4" perch on the spinner.

Good day to be out on the water. When I got back to my truck, there was a Game Warden I believe. He told me he saw a 5lb large mouth get caught today.
