Fished from 7 AM - 2PM . Started with a rapala hot steel and got my first hook-up within 4 min. from launching. I did 2 turns on the east end with no more hits , switched to a wedding ring and worm , did 2 more turns no hits . I was marking lots of fish on the fish-finder at 25 - 80 feet so I went for the leaded line set-up. It is 18 lb. line with 75 ft. of mono a dodger (silver) and a egg sucking leach for the fly. I did one turn in the same area no hits, I then turned up lake and trolled past the launch and towards twin pines. On this troll I had a few small small bumps, no takers. I was digging through my fly boxes. and saw a fly I had never used it is a double hook shrimp fly, bright pink head orange body with a little sparkle ribbon. Tied it on and trolled 3-5 colors and it was on. Fished the cove west of twin pines in a south to north direction from bank to bank. for a few hours with non stop action. Hooked and released 15 - 20 planters 8" -12" many more bumps and quick releases some with a lot of fight and weight. I did manage to boat a nice 16" football for dinner tonight and can"t wait to BBQ it. All in all I learned to be persistent change what is not working and don't give up.
