Had to try fly fishing and yes it went well...lots of small trout on the dock. Found a nice spot and landed 2 nice and fatty Rainbow. Weeds starting to pick up a lot now. Im sure ill be there again next weekend;)

Nice fish FB! Just curious about the color difference on those. I've seen that over here too. Back home the rule of thumb was a fish in a lake was more light color (like the pic on the left) and the ones that had been in the stream for a while were more dark.

Fish that have just come out of a hatchery are normally darker because they have been "sun tanned" from the shallow water they swim in. Fish that spend most of their time shallow also get the sun tan result. Fish that go deeper and get less UV rays stay lighter colored.

I suspect the bright one was a fall planter as a fry and has been spending a lot of time deep. The darker one is most likely this spring's planter and has not gone deep yet.
