Hogs of the year! This one of the best place that i'd fly fish for monster bows in WA. Saw some monster Cruisers. Lots of fish between 8-26in. Wish I were here after the ice melted. It would of been crazy. Seems to me that there are still some spawner. Its hard work looking and trying to spot them. Next time I have to bring my float tube.

Thanks dude!!! My Sage 9ft 5w did the job...its hard fly fishing from the shore. Once in a while you'll see some Cruiser and that's your chance to work the FLY!!!

Glad to see W. Medical is rebounding well since the last rehab! Those are nice fish. Give it a couple more years. Seriously. I used to live in town and fished it countless times. In 2006, I had an honest 50 fish day while kick finning around stripping an olive wooly bugger. Through last year I'd fish the corner to the west of the launch. The water is shallow there and you can have ridiculous days with chironomids from a boat! Ditto for your belly boat. Keep the reports coming on W. Medical.....I love to hear it's progress!

@raffernsg64: thanks for the heads up. Lots of bottom fishers but didn't see any other fly fishermen when I was there. Im sure I was the only one. Haha, yeah I heard that too, That they killed all the fish and restock it again. Do you know when they did that and why? It looks like a wonderful lake and seems to have really healthy fish. For me I like lakes that don't have resorts or lots of house built around it. Im from MT so im really use to the hike in and hike out lakes. I was using the same set up also. Olive, brown, black, buggers and even egg pattern work. Didn't see lots of Riser so I didn't try dry flying but Im taking the float tube out there this weekend. I wasn't sure if you can have a device like that out there the first time so now that I done a liitle homework. Let's just hope that I can land some monsters again. GL FISHERMANS!!!
