Got on the water at about 11:30AM today. 1 hr and 30 mins later, I finally get my first bite.
A little 6" kok on my trout setup. LOL, better than nothing I guess. Kept going along the north side of the lake, but nothing is happening. So I moved across to the western and southern side of the lake.
By now, it's about 1:30 or 2. And all of a sudden, I'm surrounded by fish activity. Jumping and swirling around me. Kept using my trout setup and caught a bunch of 10-12" trouts. The sun is now out and the blue in the sky is growing.
I'll occasionally switch rods with either a worm or crankbait. I threw a new crankbait and get a solid fish! I was thinking finally a bass! Oh no, it's silver, lol. Oh well, it's a nice trip. Getting it closer and I felt the line "snap", but then all of a sudden, the fish is still there. I see the lure is no longer on the fish's head. I see someone's old line with 2 white powereggs. The lure is hooked onto the loose line. I get a pic and free the trout from it's trap.
I stay in the area and I spotted a big smallie. 17-19". It looked at my crankbait but didn't chase. Throw my backup worm and nothing. At least I finally saw a bass this time.
I was surprised by the lack of boats on the water today. Even at 3:30PM when I left, there was only 1 other trailer parked. But he left as I was loading up too.
Oh yes, I did spot a dead racoon in the water. That was different.
