I'm not going to lie... when I woke up 2 hours earlier than normal this morning all I could think about was getting to L.B.P. (Inspired by Elijah) to fish. I had never caught bass much over 2ibs there so I was very cerious to know if there are indeede, any big momma's hanging out. I showed up and the weather was horrible. I didn't plan on catching anything. I tied on my fav. Lunker lure and fished for a hour. My hands were stinging so I was about to head to work until I got a big hit. I though it was a big smallie because the fight was so intense and she kept on fighting for well over a minute. Turns out to be a fat largie! Elijah, you were dead on. That was the worst place to land a big fish ever. I was positive I was going to lost the fish. She had so much energy and kept jumping as I was trying to lip her. I broke out my new scale. The scale only read 2.26 and I was thinking WTF, 2 pounds??? No way! After a closer look, I accidentely put the scale in Kilograms. I have no idea what that ratio difference is but she was at least over 4ibs. I went to work a happy man. I put her back like I do with all bass. The bass was under a submerged tree in 5 feet of water or less suprisingly.

according to the kg to lb converter, that's a 4.98 lb largie!! way to go!!

Dress, here comes a nice surprise for you. just multiply kg by 2.2. so 2.26 x 2.2 = 4.97 lbs !!! Yep, larger largie than expected. NICE!!
By the way, the fish didn't have Elijah's broken line dangling out her mouth, did it?

HA,HA. No, but it's caudal fin looked as though it had been netted one too many times. The rest of the fish was in excellent shape.

that's a good sign that there was more than one hawg in the area :D the bass i lost yesterday had white marks and scars all over it's entire body and looks very roughed up.

I agree. I think those bigger bass are ready to feed and that's why were seeing them in such shallow water.

Nice fish man, turns out the morning bites good. What time did you get out there? I'm thinking about hitting it up sat. morning.

Nice largie! A bass that size will make most bass anglers happy -- for a while -- but you will always want a bigger one.

Yeah. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say my dream is a state record.
