Arrived at 1:30 P.M. at the county park. I only caught 2 fish from the floating dock. I lined up with 4lb. test line, medium bobber, with 5 feet of line to a #10 worm hook. Fished towds the reeds for awhile no bites, tried straight out no bites. Then I tried towards the swimming area side of the dock right where the shallows drop off. Nailed a large fish which I thought was going to be a trout. Then this bib fin splashed the surface and the 31/2 lb. Large mouth went airborne andit was five feet out on 4 lb. test ulta light pole and reel.It soon became wrapped around the cable holdin the dock to the lake bed. I reached in, it opened its mouth, I grabed it and scored my biggest largemouth bass ever. At the same time the guy standing next to me fishing with his little girl. He was using a flouresent green 4 inch grub with a #2 hook,hooked a great 8lb. large mouth bass but he was a beginner and tied a slipknot on his hook and it got away,he tried to land it to quickly.I also caught a small trout.So it looks like the bass are competing for bedding spacein the shallows at liberty lake.
