Went out after Smallmouth on a beautiful Friday.

Throwing Yamamoto Double Tail Hula Grub jigs in brown on a crunchtime football head and Rapala X-Rap jerkabaits in walleye fry colors around the rockpile in 5-15 feet of water produced 6 smallmouth all in the 1-3 pound range. The water temp was around 55F.

Medicare Beach has some smallmouth roaming around and some on beds. We caught a couple small ones back there, but please catch & release quickly if you are fishing on beds.

The MarDon Resort Shoreline produced another 6 smallmouth with the largest one going a little over 4 lbs. on a DT Hula Grub. (Its the one in the really distorted picture, forgot my nice camera)

Overall a great day with about 15 smallmouth caught total, with the best 5 running around 15 lbs.

The numbers are picking up! The size is also still there too! The fishing should be on fire until the middle of June.
