Finally had a chance to get the boat wet for the first time this year, and fished for awhile on Saturday afternoon at Cassidy. I got 3 bites all afternoon, and all on my own hand poured green pumpkin plastic worms. I got three largemouth bass in the boat: #1. 23" long, 8lbs. 7oz. (my first bass of the year!!) #2. 20" long, 6lbs 3oz. (a second gift from the bass gods in this cold water) #3. 13" long (the size I figured I'd get - if anything). All fish found near weeds/pads in 3-4 feet of water. The bigger fish seemed to be chasing smaller minnows/perch in the shallows...where I found baitfish, I found some nice bass. I've done some shore fishing around the area this year, but it was really fun to finally have the time to get my boat out...and the fish cooperated too! Slow fishing, but a few great rewards for my efforts.

Is there still a 15 HP limit on your outboard there?

Yep there's a 10 HP limit on the lake. 8 MPH speed limit too.

Question....what if you don't fire up the big motor? And just use the the bowmount electric?

Sorry I didn't respond sooner...finally found my password. Mr. Magler is right on with the speed rules on the lake. But this really doesn't effect me there, I always fish Cassidy in a small boat and with an electric motor only (which I use as little as possible anyway). The very shallow public boat launch is even worse this time of year, especially with the bit higher water level currently. So anyone launching boats be aware...and have boots/waders ready. I don't know the rules/regs about huge hp motors on boats using the bow mount only on the lake...I only know that I have seen a couple local homeowners come unglued when any boat comes close to 8mph with any motor. The homes on the lake are so close to water level (and constantly have flooding/high water problems) - so I believe it is more of a wake problem than anything. Besides, stealth is a necessity on this highly pressured lake. I fish all my favorites spots methodically, with as little wake/noise/whatever as possible. I like to enjoy every little nook of this cool little bass lake...so many areas have great little cover and structures to fish and explore!

did you ever get ur hat cam?

I did get a hat cam, sort of...made my own. Drilled a hole in a hat brim and found the proper screw to mount my own video camera to my hat. A rubber bushing helps keep it secure. I have some cool videos of these bass, and many others... and look forward to making a lot more. It's cheaper than a fish mount, and a fun way to keep memories of the trophy fish you catch. I am going to experiment with other ways to film the action, as I usually fish alone.

@ recodog: I was told by WDFW you are not even supposed to have a motor over 10 HP on the water - even if you leave it up and never run it. I have no idea why though - didn't make sense to me.
