Clear Lake was my last stop on opening day. Busy, as expected, but fish were willing. Caught a bunch on trolled or cast wolley buggers on the two sides near the boat launch. Lots of splashy risers, but also a lot of short takes. Let all mine go.
Saturday May 3 went for an hour and a half from 6:00 - 7:30. Fishing was real slow. One short hit, that was it - fished with spinning gear, trolled a wedding ring (red) and a Dick Nite. Wished I'd had the fly rod. Saw a fly guy miss a few, most anglers were catching one, maybe two fish - it was a lot slower.
Remember to let some swim.
